The Nova 5 occurrence is located about 62 kilometres northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

The showing area is underlain by an Early Jurassic quartz monzonitic phase of the Hogem Plutonic Suite. A 2006 work program of Lysander Minerals Corporation yielded moderately anomalous silt samples assaying 500 parts per million copper; rock grab samples 1197, 1198, and 1206 assayed 0.1245 per cent copper, 0.1134 per cent copper, and 0.1036 per cent copper, respectively (Assessment Report 28851). Mineralization is inferred to be disseminated chalcopyrite.

In 2006, Lysander Minerals conducted an exploration sampling program collecting silts (94) and rocks (4) along the Osilinka Valley generally along a network of logging roads that follow the south side of the valley. In June of 2007, Fugro Airborne Surveys carried out heliborne magnetic and electromagnetic surveying over the Cat Mountain property (including the Nova claims), part of the large holdings of Lysander Minerals Corporation in the Omineca-Osilinka rivers area.

In 2012, Tajiri Resource Corp. conducted a helicopter supported property-wide reconnaissance geochemical investigation of their OGK property. A total of 68 rock, 112 stream sediment and 383 soil samples were collected and submitted for assay. A helicopter supported airborne geophysical survey consisting of magnetics, VLF/EM and radiometric surveys over four blocks totalling 505 line-kilometres was also completed.
